Today El Silencio Ibiza unveils a groundbreaking cultural experience: Urusai Sunset Bar, the island’s very first audiophile bar. Where ritual meets rhythm and vinyl breathes new life into sunsets, Urusai is more than a bar — it’s a sonic sanctuary shaped by Japanese precision, Balearic soul, and the deep warmth of analog sound.
Perched on the golden western edge of Cala Molí, Urusai opens daily from golden hour into moonlight. This is no ordinary venue. It’s a reverent space for deep listening, where every record tells a story, and each sunset becomes a ritual. Inspired by Japan’s jazz kissa cafés and the untamed freedom of Ibiza’s musical past, Urusai reimagines what it means to truly listen.
Step inside and be swept across genres and decades — from the spiritual jazz of Alice Coltrane to the cosmic disco of Patrick Cowley, Afro-boogie rarities, reissued gems, and Balearic oddities. It’s a heady mix of Soul, Funk, Eastern and Western Jazz, obscure finds, and timeless grooves. Curated by Jaime Fiorito, son of Balearic icon DJ Alfredo, the soundscape is handpicked for those who listen with intention.
The heart of Urusai is its bespoke sound system — an analog-digital hybrid of astonishing clarity. Built from Baltic birch plywood and featuring custom coaxial speakers, each piece is finely tuned and individually amplified. It’s not just loud — it’s warm, textured, and alive. Every beat, every whisper, every bassline is felt as much as heard.
And then there’s the design. Crafted by Kulapat Yantrasast of WHY Architecture — a protégé of Tadao Ando — the minimalist space is centered around a vortex-like sculpture, drawing you in and grounding you in the present. The architecture whispers, “Pause. Listen. Be here.”
Urusai’s Izakaya kitchen is a love letter to Japanese technique and Ibizan flavor. Chefs Taku Yuji Mikurya and Romain Littière present a refined yet soulful menu: toro sando, red prawn soba, tempura made with sun-kissed island vegetables, and dishes that speak of both heritage and innovation. Pair it all with natural wines, rare sakes, lychee martinis, or wasabi margaritas crafted with care.
But perhaps the most magical thing about Urusai is its spirit. It’s not a club. Not a lounge. It’s a gathering place for seekers — vinyl lovers, creatives, collectors, and curious souls looking for connection beyond the noise. It echoes the Ibiza of the ‘70s and ‘80s — when aristocrats danced with locals, and music wasn’t just background, but lifeblood.
Urusai Sunset Bar is not just a new venue — it’s a movement. A place to slow down, tune in, and fall in love with listening all over again. If you’re chasing a deeper sound and a richer sunset, this is where your journey begins.
Welcome to Urusai.
