ónar Festival has officially revealed the first 31 names from its ambitious 2026 programme — the beginning of a lineup that will ultimately feature more than 100 performances. This first announcement sets the tone for a festival that remains as bold, diverse, and innovative as ever. With a renewed three-day format, continuous music, and a single unified venue at Fira Barcelona (Gran Via in L’Hospitalet), Sónar 2026 is poised to redefine the festival experience.
For the first time in its 33-year history, the full music programme will unfold entirely within one expansive space, offering an uninterrupted flow from afternoon through the night. The festival promises a more comfortable, immersive, and seamless environment with six redesigned stages, blending iconic spaces with brand-new concepts.
Meanwhile, Sónar+D, the 14th International Congress of Innovation, Creativity and Technology, will maintain its discourse, networking, and professional programming. While large-scale installations and creative tech experiences shift to Fira Gran Via, the daytime conference programme will take place in select venues across Barcelona’s city centre.
A Bold, Diverse First Line-Up Reveal
The initial 31 artists showcase Sónar’s trademark blend of global stars, experimental icons, and boundary-pushing newcomers. This preview represents only 30% of the total programme, but already highlights the festival’s commitment to plurality across genres, generations, and artistic communities.
Among the newly announced acts:
Kelis – The US R&B icon will make her long-awaited Sónar debut, bringing decades of genre-blending innovation.
Skepta – The defining voice of UK grime returns with his forthcoming album Fork & Knife.
Charlotte de Witte – Premiering a new live show built around her self-titled album.
Amelie Lens presents AURA – An audiovisual exploration of shadow, movement, and energy.
Modeselektor – Debuting a brand-new performance exclusive to Sónar 2026.
WhoMadeWho – Returning with a fresh experimental electronic pop show.
Cabaret Voltaire – A historic reunion by founding members Stephen Mallinder and Chris Watson.
The announcement is also rich with cutting-edge club culture: Nia Archives, Chris Stussy, Sammy Virji, Boys Noize, DJ Gigola, Ogazón, KETTAMA, Clementaum b2b LAZA, Alba Franch, ISA, riria, and many more.
Sónar also strengthens its connection to rising talent from around the world, including artists from Japan, Colombia, Brazil, France, Spain, Denmark, Germany, the UK, and beyond — reflecting the global tapestry of contemporary electronic music.
A Festival Reinvented: Continuous Music, One Unified Space
A milestone shift arrives in 2026: for the first time ever, Sónar unifies its daytime and nighttime programmes under one roof. According to festival director François Jozic, this evolution marks a “decisive step” in Sónar’s mission to keep Barcelona at the centre of global electronic culture.
The redesigned layout will feature:
Six Distinct Stages
Three indoor stages (including SonarHall and SonarClub)
Three outdoor stages (including the expanded SonarPark)
Each space has been rebuilt to support next-generation audiovisual production, offering artists new ways to experiment and audiences new depths of immersion.
Extended Hours
Thursday: 17:00–03:00
Friday & Saturday: 17:00–07:00
This unified structure allows festivalgoers to move freely between genres, atmospheres, and formats without interruption — truly a “continuous festival”.
Sónar+D expands its footprint inside Fira Gran Via, integrating interactive installations, immersive digital art, and creative technology across all festival days.
The 14th International Congress of Innovation, Creativity and Technology will host panels, talks, and professional sessions in central Barcelona venues. For the first time, stand-alone Sónar+D tickets will be available, opening the doors to a broader professional community.
As always, the Sónar+D Open Call will welcome submissions from global creators working at the intersection of art and technology.
A Living Visual Identity
Sónar 2026’s visual identity is conceived as a living organism in constant transformation, reflecting the festival’s ever-evolving nature. Created by Barcelona-based studio Boldtron and art-directed by Lluís Campos, the imagery blends CGI, 3D craftsmanship, and experimental aesthetics—turning each stage into a self-contained ecosystem.
