House music icon Louie Vega returns to Nervous Records with a pair of powerful new singles — a reimagining of Indeep’s 1982 club anthem Last Night A DJ Saved My Life, featuring Anané and Tony Touch, and a new collaboration with Funki Cadets titled In Search of Peace Of Mind. Both arrive digitally on November 14, 2025, followed by a vinyl release on November 28, 2025.
Originally released in 1982, Last Night A DJ Saved My Life by Indeep remains one of the most recognizable records in club history — a song that captured the spirit of the DJ as a cultural hero. Now, Louie Vega brings that energy into 2025, rebuilding the track from the ground up while preserving its infectious essence.
On his main remix, Vega reshapes the song into a modern house anthem: big drums, radiant synths, and an unmistakable groove that bridges the golden era of disco with the power of contemporary club sound. Anané delivers a magnetic vocal performance — equal parts soul and sophistication — while Tony Touch brings a gritty, rhythmic counterpoint, his flow adding street-level swagger and storytelling to the track.
For the Dub version, Anané takes control with her own interpretation — stripping back the vocal narrative and diving deep into smooth, cosmic textures. Over supple drums and Vega’s signature percussive pulse, she crafts a version built for late-night sessions and meditative dancefloors, shimmering with emotion and restraint.
